Calm down, nobody did anything to you. Seems to me you’ve invested just a bit too much into something you admit you have no control over. You ‘Bama fans don’t need to say anything, especially not in defense of criminals.

This story is about Alabama, not TCU or any other school. Last time I looked TCU wasn’t the defending champs like ‘Bama. Added scrutiny comes with the territory.

When you’re the top dog you have to realize everyone else will be after your crown. When your fans brag endlessly about their team’s “dominance” a story like this tends to scuff up the shine on that trophy.

Lastly, stop taking other fans’ childish criticism so personally. I don’t respond to sophomoric taunts from immature baiters whose only satisfaction comes from trying to tear down someone else’s team. All I did was point out that Saban’s halo is looking a bit askew.

My take on your posts is that perhaps you should step back a bit and ask yourself why your own sense of who you are can be so easily shaken by the irresponsible actions of a few players. You either have a direct investment in that team or else you need to get a life.

What the hell are us Bama fans suppose to say then huh? We are suppose to agree with all the people SLAMMING Alabama and Coach Saban? I don’t think so. What would you do then if one of the things you loved with all your heart was under attack? Just sit back and let people bash it? Sure this is a crappy situation and those players should NEVER see the field for Alabama or any school for that matter again after what they did but what are we as Alabama fans suppose to do about it? It’s over and done with. Nothing we can do about it now. Why don’t you call out all the other fans of other teams for what they have said? Hells yeah, I completely agree. It took me a minute after this happened to step back and remember Alabama is a well oiled machine and even the best machines in the world malfunction every now and then. Thank god we have the best machine fixer in the bizz…We have to remember we are the champs, this crap comes with the territory, by that I mean all these people hating. They only get happiness out of something bad happening to Alabama or any SEC school for that matter. On the other hand we get to experience the TRUE joy that they wish they could experience by winning National Championships. This will blow over and it will be business as usual. Institutions get punished for the actions/inactions of “student-athletes” whether the institution knows about them or not. Reggie Bush arranged a rent-free home for his folks in San Diego, 150 miles from the USC campus. USC got hammered by the NCAA for not knowing about it. Apparently universities are expected to field their own nation-wide surveillance teams.

Still not one comment regarding how these (very) thinly-disguised thugs ended up on the roster of an organization that claims to be the best in college football. One bad apple is something anyone can miss. Four? That’s an institutional flaw. What does Saban really stand for if he is permitting the likes of these bozos on his team? Recruiting talent without regard for content of character is the epitome of the shameless pursuit of “win at all costs.” Congrats.

It’s nice to see theirs people that still believe in right from wrong and expect one to be held accountable for their actions. I’m sure in this matter they will be.

If they did this, then they should be gone. If not, reinstate.

That being said, the evidence is pretty damning against them.

This is also not what I consider stupid kid stuff. Violent robbery (domestic violence, rape, etc.) isn’t the same as smoking weed, DUI sans injuries, bar fight, etc.

No second chance if true. If true, they will likely see jail time.

Just sad that these kids are stupid enough to throw their lives away like this. Glad that their victims didn’t get hurt worse or killed.

Yes, when and if they reach their 30′s they may look back and realize how futile their decisions were. In the meantime, I’m not willing to allow them to potentially injure someone else by their actions. This was a felony and needs to be dealt with severely. Being dismissed from U of Al should be step #1. The court system process should be step #2. Step #3 should be to publicize this so that others will see the consequences and hopefully not follow in the foot steps…..

No, you can’t fix stupid. Funny, but I woke up this morning to a note from a friend reminding me you can’t fix stupid and it’s futile to try. But all this waste still makes me very sad, and I can’t help wishing there were a way to stop it.

On the bright side, there are success stories. Donald Driver just retired from the Packers, and he grew up in the worst circumstances imaginable. Some do take their opportunities and make the most of them, and that’s something to celebrate.

Maybe the NFL can fund the research, oh wait, the NFL has covered up the head injury stats for decades now, so why will it do that?

You can’t fix stupid and these players are just that. If the psych research you suggest would result in tactical actions to persuade doing this type of behavior BEFORE it is executed, then it would be money well-spent. Colleges take kids from weak character families and expect them to perform differently when they arrive on a college campus. Isn’t that the description for insanity? To expect something different when the action is the same over and over?

What I’d really like is for any university to conduct psychological research into why kids do this kind of stuff … just screw up their whole lives like this.

Sounds like a little jealousy on your part. The SEC gets punished just as much as anybody when the “INSTITUTION” is guilty of infractions. No university can babysit athletes for 24/7 and all you need to do is look at the CFB arrest record for the last year, “Police Blotter”, and you will see that it is far from an SEC blotter as all schools have kids that make stupid decisions with the head stuck up in the lower intestinal track of their body.
