While Alabama has yet to comment on the arrest of four football players overnight, specifics of what led to felony charges are beginning to surface. And, suffice to say, those details don’t bode well for the Tide football futures any of those involved.
TideSports.com has obtained the arrest warrants for Brent Calloway, Tyler Hayes, D.J. Pettway (pictured) and Eddie Williams, which paints the latter three in a less-than-favorable light.According to arrest warrants, D.J. Pettway, Eddie Williams and Tyler Hayes punched a student’s head and face and kicked him in the ribs and back area.
Williams and Hayes admitted to the attack, which caused cuts to the victim’s face, a mild concussion and severe swelling, according to the warrants.
An Apple laptop was allegedly stolen in that robbery. Additionally, there was a second robbery Monday in which Williams, the website writes, “admitted to police that he punched a student’s head and face while Pettway and Hayes stood by and watched. He said that he stole the student’s wallet and later used his student identification card to buy snacks from a vending machine in the football player’s dorm.”
Williams was booked by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Department on charges of second-degree robbery and fraudulent use of a credit/debit card. Hayes and Pettway were also charged with second-degree robbery, while Calloway was charged with fraudulent use of a credit/debit card.
Williams was also arrested Sunday for carrying a pistol without a license. The details behind that arrest might actually be more disturbing than the two alleged robberies.
All four players have posted bond and are out of the county jail.
