We'll have to respectfully agree to disagree. As pdmjr said, the Steelers receiving corps last season was extremely undisciplined. Too many drops and fumbles. Burress signed a one-year contract, and is gone now.

Wallace is not expected to return--and I am thankful for that. His attitude was a cancer. He sat out the entire off-season in a snit over contract negotiations, despite the fact that we were converting to an entirely new offense. He was ineffective when he returned and blamed his inability to catch the ball on losing focus because we spent too much time handing off to the running backs. Seriously? Both Harris and Bleier put in 1000-yard seasons during our Dynasty years, but Swan and Stallworth still managed to catch the ball when it came their way. They didn't lose focus while the backs were running the ball.

Antonio Brown is already working out regularly in the Steelers practice facility long before OTAs begin. That's the kind of dedication this receiving corps needs. Sanders is a free agent that I'd love re-sign, and I'm a fan of Cotchery, who reminds me of Ward. But we need a coach who understands Haley's offense.

I have to respectfully disagree you there Deb on the effectiveness of the Pittsburg Steelers receiveing corps. I believe the receivers in Pittsburgh were handcuffed by injuries suffered by Big Ben, and the aging non mobile qbs in Bryon Leftwich and the nearly 40 yr Charlie Batch.

when healthy, Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace formed one of the best tandems in the league, and if throw 2nd year WR Emanuel Sanders in the mix, that was a pretty good top three. The Steelers must get younger, as they still have two veteran dinosaurs at WR in Jericho Cotchery and Plaxico Burress.

The Steelers are about to go into salary cap hell, and will release some very popular, but expensive veterans soon, and a big time transition is about to take place in the steel city.

Scottie Montgomery will be an excellent coach at Duke, and Im sure he will be running his own program in the next few years.

Don't know if Scottie left the Steelers by request or by choice, but it's best for all involved. The effectiveness of Pittsburgh's receiving corps has declined the last couple of years, and the team needs to go in a new direction. But I still wish him all the best with Duke and appreciate his desire to keep striving for excellence.
