Yes, we have rivalries, even bitter ones from time to time, but we don’t belittle other teams and schools, rivals or otherwise. Fans can get overzealous and some may be rabid, but our athletic directors and other administrators generally have more class and we hold them to a higher level than DeLoss.

We had the three (3) worst coaches in school history in the 1990s (Gibbs, Schnelly, and Blake) so I concede the decade.

But history is history and most of the Horns wins have come prior to the “modern era”.

the last time Texas beat a top 15 team was when they defeated #12 Oregon State in the Alamo Bowl 31-27 in December.

Mack Brown went 6-1 vs Missouri while they were both in the big 12, and UT went 7-2 overall vs MU. I dont know why DeLoss Dodds all of a sudden had Missouri in his thoughts, when a school just 90 miles east of Austin in College Station has major momentum right now….leave the Mizzou bashing to Kansas fans.

sallust 99…as for you thinking OU has owned Texas in the three of the last four decades, thats not entirely true….Since 1980-2012, OU holds a 15-18-2 advantage, including winning the last three games in 2010,’11 and ’12.

Someone really needs to tell this jerk that you don’t build your program by trying to tear someone else’s down.

I agree Pinkel is a horrible coach and needs to go. As for the cupcakes, yes your exactly right. But Pinkel isn’t the only coach who collects his wins on cupcakes. Saban, Brown, Stoops, all coaches have cupcakes. I wish they couldn’t schedule them but it is the way it is. And mizzou is mostly overrated but we consistently won in the big 12 and produced NFL players the whole time. To me, that’s successful in football.

Over the long haul, yes, Texas has much more tradition and resources to help build a dominant program throughout. There’s no denying that. But Missouri was one of the most consistent members of the big 12 in terms of winning. Did we ever win the conference? No. Did we compete and even beat OU and UT from time to time? Yes. Hell we even had 10 win seasons strung together for multiple years.

All of this proves Deloss Dodds has no idea what he’s talking about and is on his way to destroying the Big 12, which is sad to see, because I still root for the Big 12 to do well in all sports. (Except Kansas)

I hope Texas fans and alumni rip back at this guy and make sure he’s not running their athletic department with this “pat myself on the back” mentality. Doesn’t seem to be working well for their basketball and football teams. Meanwhile, A&M might have just passed you. Baylor and TCU are just about even with what you’ve accomplished lately.
