I heard the same thing about Princes' recruiting prowess. He was the HC at K-State and did recruit many Juco's. He did not have the same success that current K-State HC is having and he too recruits the Juco's heavily.

Honestly, I hope he changes his dogmatic ways because it absolutely affects team chemistry. RU has plenty of talent on the roster....all that I ask is that HE USE IT. About an hour ago, My brother-in-law who follows the RU message boards and is a die-hard RU fan told me that Pernetti had a discussion with Flood about this and that Flood will open up competition for all positions. That Flood did not want to throw Nova "under the bus" so to speak and was protecting him. He further wanted to establish that "he was the boss, the decision-maker" and it all is on him. I hope my brother-in-law is correct. I hope RU has a successful recruiting swing next season ant that transition to Big 10 play goes very well. I too will reserve judgment until after next season.

All that being said, I love the Darrell Wilson hire, particularly for his history and in-roads in South Jersey, really like the Prince hire and the Cohen promotion was pretty much a no-brainer. If I remember correctly when Prince was the HC of KSU he decided to go JUCO heavy in recruiting and it turned out to not work out very well. But he's supposedly a top notch recruiter and did develop Josh Freeman so the potential is enticing. So, if nothing else, Flood has done a very good job of replenishing/improving the coaching staff.

@gamecocker- since you are the only other person that comments on RU posts- you obviously have some disdain for Flood. Everything you have said for the most part is true. Hopefully, he has learned a thing or 2 this past season. It was definitely a completely different approach with the QB situation then we saw under Schiano. Flood had over the top loyalty to Nova where GS would pull QBs after one bad drive. Basically, it's pretty simple. Nova's performance this year will either validate his loyalty and instincts as a coach or we're screwed. Either way, for me personally, I'm going to hold judgement on Flood until next January. Then I think we'll have a good picture of what we have as a head coach.

I guess Ron Prince couldn't find another landing spot. Why work for a HC like Kyle Flood who makes the decisions for EVERYONE on his staff.....his decision is final...even if the QB throws 4 interceptions in the first half of a game....RU is headed to hell when its time for the Big 10. Next years record should be good because other than Arkansas and Louisville, they don't play anyone worth mentioning......and I'm a Rutgers' supporter!!!
