WVU reportedly hires new O-line coach from Stanford

With Bill Bedenbaugh leaving to take a job with Oklahoma, West Virginia’s search for an offensive line coach may well be coming to an end.

Per Mitch Vingle of the Charleston Gazette, Mountaineers coach Dana Holgorsen has hired Stanford tight ends and offensive tackles coach Ron Crook to coach WVU’s O-line. Footballscoop.com, which was also reporting a possible move for Crook, said the deal is close to being done.

Officially, WVU has not commented.

Crook has been with the Cardinal the past two seasons, during which time Stanford became known as one of the best rushing offenses in college football with tight ends Coby Fleener and Zach Ertz also being regarded as among the best at their position.

WVU, on the other hand, has struggled with offensive line consistency over the past couple of years.
