Getty ImagesUSC has had plenty of coaching turnover over the past couple of months. On Friday though, the Trojans filled one of their vacant spots.
First reported by USCfootball.com, Indiana coach Kevin Wilson confirmed on his Twitter account that Hoosiers co-defensive coordinator Mike Ekeler had left for a job with USC. It’s believed that Ekeler will coach linebackers. Assuming that is indeed the case, Ekeler would replace Scottie Hazelton.
Ekeler joined Wilson’s staff at IU after a three-year stint as Nebraska’s linebackers coach and was considered one of the better recruiters for the Hoosiers.
Lane Kiffin reportedly hired Mike Summers from Western Kentucky earlier this week to coach offensive line. The Trojans are still looking for an offensive coordinator to replace Kennedy Polamalu.
Let the USC and coach Kiffin bashing begin again! I think it’s America’s new favorite pastime…
It’s good to see the staff is now complete! Fight On!
Coach Ekeler is one of the most energetic
people I’ve ever seen. He helped land a pretty solid group of defensive recruits for IU next season and he’ll be missed.
He is going to be a future college Head Coach somewhere so I’m not shocked he is making the jump… too bad to lose him though.
Kiffin=Biggest Sham of a Football Coach in America. You can replace all the coaches you want but USC fans your football program is a joke! Preseason number 1 and a 7-6 finish? A better PAC 12 and you think your on par with Alabama? Good luck Kiffy and Trojans you are going to need it!
So, you have no OC, but your staff is complete? Lane, is that you making the comments?
Yes!!!!!!!!
Ben you might want to updated the article as QB coach Clay Helton was named OC!
Or maybe we’ll have a whole new post for the three coaches Kiffin’s introducing officially, 1trojanlove!
Cvilleirish,
The staff is complete as I said earlier QB coach and current staff member was named OC! It’s cool, I would not expect an Irish fan to understand or know what’s going on with the USC program. And I will tell Coach Kiffin you said hello…
going4iton4th: Last season was a joke for all the haters, and a nightmare to any SC fan.
As far as anyone claiming the program is on par with Bama, I don’t recall ever hearing anyone claiming that. Where are you getting that from? Or you just taking your next shot at the program because it makes you feel better as a person?
