Larry Scott officially added to Miami staff

A couple of days after it was reported that Miami had filled the lone opening in its coaching staff, that move has officially come to fruition.

The Hurricanes announced via a press release Monday afternoon that Larry Scott has been hired as Al Golden‘s new tight ends coach. Scott will replace Mario Cristobal, who left The U after less than a month on the job to become the offensive line coach at Alabama.

Scott had spent the past eight seasons at USF, including his final year in which he served as running backs coach. he also coach ed tight ends in 2007-08 and again in 2010-11.

The coach’s relationship with that university goes back even further as he was a member of USF’s first-ever recruiting class in 1996 and was a three-year letterwinner (1997-99) for the Bulls. His only prior coaching experience was at the high school level.
