Nice post – I did a little research on the size of the signing classes for the past 4 years on Florida – though you might find it interesting and would especially love to hear you explain how Florida signed a total of 99 players. The limit is 85 right?

With EVERY team, the challenge is that football talent does not equate to integrity and moral character… nor life-intelligence.

A number are physically gifted… and not much else – nor to they care to enhance other areas of their lives.

Some of these guys truly focus on nothing else but the gridiron and performing at school is not a priority to them.

Too bad that part of their life can’t be more positively effected by the Football Program… but I don’t believe that’s the Coaches responsibility.

Let’s be honest!!!
Saban is a great coach and Bama is a great program BUT………

Saban has learned how to manipiulate the rules better than a “carny booth operator!”

Saban’s math = get all the very best players that WANT to come to Bama NO matter how many he has on scholarship at the time of signings! Then cull through the least productive/least potential ones and encourage them to move in to get down to the 85 limit………….

More likely I think the players Alabama kicks off, do not qualify, or are accepted but transfer, could probably defeat any other conference champion, including a major independent with an imaginary girl friend.

Alabama has no problem whatsoever with meeting the 85 player limit by September. They are down to 88 players today and have four players who are 5th year seniors who have never played and can be ethically and rightly removed and two additional players at QB who want to transfer. Del Rio and at least 2 other walkons will probably be given scholarships The problem is that most fans and the media have no background in math. Saban is well on his way to his best team ever in 2013 and very likely to repeat as NC..

Maybe he smoked fake pot? Hope so. Hope it was not another felony assault and robbery.

Alabama is having a rash of these types of problems at present, but I would expect that many other teams before the new season starts will have similar.

For these reasons, among others, most coaches (and this fan) do not like the “off season.” We will over the next weeks or month, begin the litany of arrest reports.
