Tim Brewster reportedly leaving Miss. St. for FSU

Hired by Florida State as its tight ends coach/recruiting coordinator in January, Billy Napier abruptly left the Seminoles to take a job at Alabama earlier this month.

A week after that abrupt departure, Jimbo Fisher has apparently (again) filled out his coaching staff.

With the speculation building over the past couple of days, 247Sports.com reports that Tim Brewster has been hired by Fisher as FSU’s tight ends coach.  He will also take on Napier’s title of recruiting coordinator.

Brewster had spent the 2012 season at Mississippi State as the Bulldogs’ wide receivers coach, but had recently shifted his positional responsibilities to tight ends.

Neither school has confirmed the development.

Brewster, who spent four inglorious seasons (2007-10) as the head coach at Minnesota, will in a roundabout way actually replace James Coley.  Coley left his post as FSU’s offensive coordinator/TEs coach earlier this year for the same job at Miami, with his positional duties taken over by Napier.

This is the second of the two remaining coaching holes Fisher has reportedly filled this week.  Monday, it was reported that Jay Graham would be leaving his alma mater Tennessee for FSU, presumably as running backs coach.

I bet Tenn could’ve beat a div. II school for the coveted orange bowl trophy as well. Face it, nothing got scalped this year. Not even tickets to the acc championship game.
