APSome links from around college football on a Wednesday…
- DeLoss Dodds is already shooting down your Nick Saban-to-Texas rumors, Longhorns fans.
- Former West Virginia quarterback Pat White looks like he’s going to make another run at the NFL.
- Dan Mullen approves of deregulation, but with a twist. Interesting idea here.
- Monte Kiffin told Lane he’d resign after the Oregon game.
- Miami has hired a new compliance director.
- Max Browne is looking for an early edge at USC.
- How is Tennessee’s search for a new running backs coach shaping up?
Coach Mullen, famous for exhaling during the LSU game in his freshman season in the SEC: “They play smash mouth football!” Yes, coach LSU, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, A&M, and many other teams in the SEC play smash mouth football, and those teams that don’t are trying to and maybe we add Ole Miss this season, so be aware out there!
All jesting aside, Coach Mullen has a great idea about the 4 week siesta for coaches. That just makes good sense. That is why the NCAA will not consider it…it makes good sense.
SEC football this upcoming season will be more competitive than normal. Some really tough teams and some great games are shaping up.
Most college football coaches are hard workers but most have diversions (e.g. golf, alcohol, women, TV,etc) and this NCAA proposal is ideal only for a workaholic who has few diversions such as Saban which is why he is the best college coach in history. Most fans on these blogs will never understand this since most have been lazy in acquiring education and the ability to reason. Objectivity is something of course they know nothing about. Losers will always be losers.
