I love all of the people on hear talking badly of Mangino. None of you were at Kansas, or ever played for him. All you do is sit on a forum and regurgitate media hype. All of you girls need to toughen up and realize the losers trophy is why America is failing.

I beg to differ here. Yes, Big man did bring the program around, but in the end he crashed and burned. I didn't work for the guy or play for him but do have a close friend in the athletic department, and I trust and believe when he tells me what an A-hole this guy was to his players and coaches. In fact to the admin and anyone else he dealt with. I like KU and love to see the under dog rise up. Mangino is not a good person. Period

Makes you wonder how many stories about Mangino never made it into the press, because schools will overlook a whole lot for a guy who can put a winner onto the field.

---------------

Partially true. Look how much USC overlooks for Lane Kiffen and he didn't win a lot this past year. Face it, for some schools fielding a team that is not going to be ranked, etc makes more sense. Wins=higher salary for coaches, more demands for bells and whistles which cost more money. I'm just saying......

I'm stunned he has sank this low. Not a fan of the guy, but he did turn Kansas into a ranked team, which is fairly remarkable. Mike Leach made it back to head coaching coming off a similar sort of deal that was far more publicized than Mangino's. Makes you wonder how many stories about Mangino never made it into the press, because schools will overlook a whole lot for a guy who can put a winner onto the field.

Sad really. Kansas has sunk like a stone since they let him go. Reminds me a great deal of the Texas Tech situation. Both started to enjoy some success on the field then the administration choked when they saw how much coaches with winning teams get paid now and then reached for reasons to get rid of them. If you are reduced to hiring Charlie Weiss and in TTU's case have your coach basically walk out on you all I can say is ha ha.

Maybe going back home will get your career back on track. I hope during the last few years out of the game, you've learned some new tricks on how to treat people. Your antics at KU ultimately buried you and you got ran. Or, maybe in Youngstown, you can continue to be an over weight A-hole and treat your players like crap. I'm sure, you'll put on a good act this year and be civil at least. Will see
