ReutersTwo days after officially losing his offensive line coach to another Big Ten school, Darrell Hazell has filled that coaching void by dipping into a conference rival as well.
In a press release, Purdue announced Wednesday that Jim Bridge has been hired to coach the Boilermakers’ offensive line. The hire will (again) complete Hazell’s first Purdue coaching staff.
Bridge replaces Jim Bollman, who spent less than two months at the school before leaving to become Michigan State’s offensive coordinator.
“I’m excited to have Jim join our staff,” Hazell said. “He brings a lot of passion and experience to Purdue and he is a phenomenal teacher. I know our players are going to love working with him.”
Bridge was hired by Illinois Jan. 23 to coach the Illini’s line. He had spent the past six seasons at North Carolina State as line coach (2011-12) and tight ends coach (2007-10).
