APA pair of Syracuse football players were among four university students charged in a series of unrelated burglaries, the Syracuse Post-Standard is reporting.
According to the paper, junior defensive end Markus Pierce-Brewster and junior defensive tackle Davon Walls were charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor petit larceny in connection to three on-campus burglaries Feb. 23. The other students, both 20-year-old males, were hit with the same charges for two separate burglaries.
The paper stated that the players “are accused of stealing about $950 worth of electronics, including a 19-inch television, XBOX gaming system, two iPods and several video games.”
The football players were allegedly caught on camera during the commission of the burglary, with Pierce-Brewster acting as a lookout “while Walls entered an unlocked apartment.” Walls subsequently emerged from the apartment with the stolen items, which Pierce-Brewster helped him load into a vehicle. Not only that, the paper writes, “video also allegedly shows Walls and Pierce-Brewster taking the stolen property into their own apartment, also within range of the cameras.”
Oops?
The players were arraigned Wednesday morning, and they both pleaded not guilty. A hearing has been set for March 11. The school has yet to comment on the situation, although both will likely face indefinite suspensions due to one of the charges being a felony.
Pierce-Brewster played in 12 games last season, Walls in three.
LOL!! And they pleaded not-guilty heh?!?? You can take the “boyz” out of the city but you can’t take the “ci-tay” outta duh “boyz”. Now that the ‘Cuse is out of the Big East and into the ACC, I guess these young thugs will transfer to Miami….”The “U”.
If these guys went to UGA they’d get suspended for 2-games and coach Richt would say a few hail mary’s on their behalf…
Welcome to the ACC? I guess now they fit in.
