Getty ImagesThe future of one of Vanderbilt’s top returning defensive linemen is up in the air, head coach James Franklin said Tuesday.
Defensive tackle Jared Morse is no longer a part of the Commodores football team after violating an unspecified team rule. Not only that, but Morse is no longer enrolled in school as well.
While hoping for a return, Franklin did not exactly sound optimistic that’s how things will ultimately shake out.
“We’re hoping that Jared will have a chance to come back. We’ll see,” the coach said according to The Tennessean. “It’s out of our hands and we’ll see how those things play out. But as of right now, we’re going on. We’re moving on as if he’s not here.”
Last season, Morse started six of the 13 games in which he played. He finished fifth on the team with nine tackles for loss.
Reload Franklin, reload. The stories have all been about how great he is as a recruiter and coach, so maybe now we will see it happen again. In all truthfulness, if you are the fifth leader tackler on your team, and you started and played in all of the games, it may be a blessing in disguise.
“Future as a ‘Dore in doubt”. Not a SEC fan, so maybe this is just ignorance, but… Does anyone call them the ‘Dores’?
