I totally agree the semi finals be played at the higher seeds home field. That's my big issue with the new format. It's a big enough burden to make a road trip for one bowl game for the average non rich fan now they're going to have to do it twice. The games will b sold out but it'll be the fat cats only who are able to make two trips and that sux. USC, Oregon for instance conceivably would have to make trips to Miami and New Orleans and teams like Alabama or Florida would have to make trips to Pasadena and Tempe. That would take a lot of money. Big 10 or big 12 teams would also be inconvenienced on coastal trips but obviously not as much

God forbid they let the universities host those semifinal games & reap some of the financial benefits locally. Nothing spells tradition in college football like making 2 teams leave their respective universities to play under the corporate lights in Miami.

Who wouldn't want to see the Tide or LSU go into Columbus, AA, or S Bend? I'm sure SEC fans wouldn't mind seeing their teams go north & validate themselves with a big win in a "cold weather climate."

But college football fans continue to be held hostage by all the glad-handin', back scratchin', & shady back room deals of "bowl executive directors" & greaseballs like Bill Hancock.

Read Dan Wetzel's Death to the BCS. They had their chance to do a proper 16 team playoff before all this conference realignment.

In the profound words of Snoop Dogg: Bill Hancock...Bill Hancok can eat a fat d***, Mike Slive can eat a fat d***, Jim Delany can eat a fat d*** . . .

The BCS is doing what it has to do to plan for the new playoff series, nothing new. Bowl venues have to be chosen and a rotation of the available ones arranged. As stated, to "A rotating event means more fans in more places will be able to experience the excitement of the new playoff."

If the prices per ticket are up in the stratosphere, I don't know how average fans can go. I know this is the first steps for a playoff and that other changes will eventually be made. One major change I would recommend is to expand the playoff format for a great number of teams.

JT put it well that the selection committee is a big issue. Former coaches that have a bias toward certain teams (as many sports writers have) and may well slant the selections, as happen in most of the pre-season and early season rankings at this time. This is an area that will be scrutinized by fans.

Changing the name from BCS to a new name is wise, but is the same folks that messed up the system the past years operating under a new name, or will the administrators of BCS actually change? I sure hope so.
