Saturday morning one-liners

Riley Nelson, Anthony Morales AP

Meandering our way through the offseason, a single one-liner at a time…

— While the coaching staff won’t publicly acknowledge it, Taysom Hill has seized control of BYU’s quarterback battle.

— New Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich is still adjusting to what he describes as “a heck of an opportunity.”

— Tennessee will hold its first scrimmage of the spring Saturday morning, and coaches are looking for some playmakers to emerge.

Dabo Swinney is borderline amazed at the transformation of the Clemson defensive end position both athletically and depth-wise.

Upping the tempo is Job 1 with first-year Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre.

— Experience may not be a strength, but potential is for Utah’s offensive line.

— Penn State redshirt freshman linebacker Ben Kline will miss spring practice after undergoing shoulder surgery.

— Former Syracuse offensive lineman Quinn Ojinnaka is angling for a career in professional wrestling.

Larry Scott reiterates that the Pac-12 is “ready to make an agreement with DirecTV” to carry his conference’s network.

Thanks for something on the Utes!

Last season was frustrating. It seems our offensive line was a sieve. Looks as if there are bigger bodies there now, so they can fill the gaps easier, but blocking for running and for passing is the key, something else that was a problem. There may be some hope if they can get the line straight.

    Go Utes!

Dabo Swinney is amazed when he gets his underwear on under his pants every morning. Doesn’t take much.

floridacock: I know southernpatriots patriarch would be writing you this, but since I know he is up in Appalachia with a group of fellow physicians, I will….

The latest rumor we have heard from SEC talk and sports talk radio, is that the SEC is in preliminary talks with Clemson, or maybe Clemson with the SEC, about possible SEC membership. What is your views on this?

Dabo Swinney is a refreshing change of pace compared to all the other shady coaches in college football. It’s just nice to see someone live the passion for the game and do things the right way as opposed to a lot of coaches that act like snarky douches to the media or are involved in sketchy recruiting practices on a yearly basis. It really makes you proud to be a Clemson fan.
