At least they didn’t lose him to a football power in their own conference. The kid is actually thinking about his future beyond just playing football, in other words, the kid has some smarts.
I am sure it upsets Franklin but overall, I think it was a wise decision on the kids part, and shows him to be pretty mature. It sounds like he picked the best situation for his education, contingent on what he wants to major in. Possibly, Vanderbilt didn’t offer his major.

Isn’t it great to have all these options! The kid obviously worked hard in the classroom as well as the football field. Vandy will be fine but this young man made the correct decision IMO. We live 10 miles outside of Princeton and while it is not Nashville, it is an hour away from NYC and Philadelphia. Princeton is a great place to go to school….it’s a smaller version of Ann Arbor, but in a better place relative to metro areas. Weather not as bad in NJ compared to Ann Arbor. Best of luck to the kid. As the saying goes, “money follows money”.

I actually know the reason. He is going to Princeton because his girlfriend is going there. She was set to go to ND but since her parents are moving to jersey she opted for Princeton. Now he is following her there

Good for him, but coming from Pacific Palisades I bet he was a little bit more intrigued about career opportunities outside of football… (Stephen Spielberg, and a bunch of other very wealthy, non-football-playing people live there, for reference.)

Vandy is a great school, but depending on what the guy wants to actually do when he “grows up”, how can you really say much about this decision?
