Texas freshman OL/DE has emergency appendectomy, out for spring

Baylor Bears v Texas Longhorns AP

There’s a bit of concerning news for Texas this morning. Freshman offensive lineman/defensive end Jake Raulerson underwent an emergency appendectomy on Wednesday evening, per UT’s Head Althetic Trainer Kenny Boyd.

No other specifics of the procedure were given. Raulerson will miss the remainder of spring practices, but the good news is that he’s expected to make a full recovery and will likely be back by the summer.

Raulerson was a four-star member of Texas’ 2013 recruiting class.

You know it’s a slow news day when a kid, who was in HS in December and has never seen a college snap, gets coverage for a rather ordinary procedure.

Been there, done that. No fun at all. Lots of pain and you are sure glad when they get it out before it ruptures and the pain is gone. He’ll be fine.
