msamandaskids:

Kudos and thumbs up! Just as southernpatriots posted, I think this moron will "adopt" some other team and may well do something else stupid and destructive in the future. He seems to repeat his behavior in some way over and over again.

I think they will give him time served, so that means he only has a little time remaining, and apparently there is no verdict to put him in an institution for examination, diagnosis, and treatment.

Actually, the 8th amendment has nothing to do with his sentencing! It is the Amendment Prohibiting the federal government (not a city or county court) from imposing excessive bail (which there was none), excessive fines (Oh wait, none) or cruel and unusual punishments (oh, still none), including torture (and again, nada).
"Oh, they were just trees"...on the contrary...they WERE NOT! He destroyed private property...property that had monetary and emotional value...historical landmarks! He POISONED the ground and illegally dumped chemicals (a violation of numerous city, state, and federal laws...none of which he was charged on). If it were someone's dog, someone's farm, someone's Mercedes he destroyed...would you then think his sentence was enough...or too little? He broke the law, bragged about it and then lied to try and get his disgusting butt out of trouble. He acted like TRASH and He got what he deserved. 3 years was NOT too much. And only having to serve 6 months of it was lenient! He got off easy! You either maintain a persona of integrity, honesty, and self control or, when you make bad choices, you face consequences! I am so tired of people doing STUPID crap like what this man did and thinking "oh, nobody got 'hurt' so it's no big deal"...why can't people act civilized and proper...he was a baby & a poor sport and pitched a fit when his sports team lost a GAME...LOSER LOSER LOSER! Bet his family is just SOOOOO proud! People like him and people who defend his actions are the reason we fail to become a better society...petty childishness and immaturity.

gamustangdude, be4bama, Deb, normtide, and all reasonable posters on this thread...thank you. Thank you for having patience and enough care for the one on this blog who needs much help and you have gone beyond the call of duty to help him.

I am reminded of something my venerated father used to tell me so many decades ago when I was but a little fellow: "Son, you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink."

I was preparing to post the website addresses and some contents which list the many national championships of SEC schools, the great accomplishments of medicine, and other research which has come forth from students from those schools, but after reading your measured and wise responses, I realize I would be wasting my time. If he cannot accept or understand your postings, there is not much I could add to this thread in connection with him and his postings.

Thank you one and all for your well wishes to me on my continued work in Appalachia. Presently, I am continuing my R & R and will resume my work there soon and will return a few days prior to LSU's Spring Game on April 20th.

You still don’t get it.
First, you find a site that contradicts mine, and I've found one that contradicts yours, but yet you're foolish enough to assess "Again, I win, you lose"? There’s only one way you win here, that is you performing better at your profession than I do at mine.
Second only 1 Big 10 school is listed before the first SEC school, Check Vandy listed at number 17.
Last, What you fail to realize over and over and over again, is that it doesn't matter where you went to school, what matters is how you apply what you've been taught. Most people outside of "packerbadger world" rely on quality of work over school accolades. School accolades are good for one thing, getting you in the door. Once you’re there you still have to perform, regardless of which institution you went to. No one succeeds in life solely based on where they went to school.
Now that we’ve beat this horse to death, let’s get back to talking college football, “Again, I win, you lose.”

Nice try Festus. If you want a good synopsis of the ranks of colleges and their academic and research accomplishments, go to Wikipedia and look under academics and research for the universities. Wisconsin has quite a lengthy one. SEC schools....not so much. In this survey, FIVE Big 10 schools ranked ahead of Georgia and four of them before any SEC school is ranked. Again, I win, you lose.

Btw Deb, I talk COLLEGE football. That means academics + sport....in this case football. Anybody can have great football teams if you go and get idiots that can't stay in school and all they do is play football. Alabama and LSU should be compared to the pro's because neither go to school and they both get paid. One gets paid over the table, one under. I'll let you try and figure out which one is which. You guys do all you can to divert from the academic part of the equation. How convenient.

My comment was based solely on the content of your posts--as you well know. And nothing in the content of your posts suggests an intellect superior to mine or anyone else's here. That's why you're so defensive.

No, I've never tried to deny the history of the South or the ignorance that remains in some quarters. But bigotry exists in every state and region. How much you're exposed to it depends on the company you keep. Frankly, I wouldn't expect someone with the education level you claim to keep such low-brow company. And I doubt you do. I imagine most of the people you know in the South--if you truly live here--are intelligent and courteous. You've simply co-opted serious racial issues as fodder for your posts because--as others have pointed out--you can't talk football.

Don't worry about my time. I have an infinite capacity for pity, especially of someone so deserving.

Wisconsin rank was 189 out of 500, UGA was ranked 99/500.

But, let's focus on football. (I'm sorry to many syllables)...ok how about... game with pig skin good ok?

@pakerbadger,

Again with the juvenile insults, your "superior educational aptitude" is beginning to lose its legitimacy.

My point that you missed is that a doctor is a doctor is a doctor. At the end of the day you can't prove to me that a doctor that graduated from Michigan's med school is better than a doctor who graduated from UGA's med school. Where is your facts/proof to support? That’s what I meant by “…like it matters in the long run…” Take the word doctor out and replace it with any other profession. Education is what you make of it; it’s an individual accomplishment / responsibility. Some people are smarter than others, that’s the way life is. But you are seriously misguided if you think that EVERY student that attends Michigan is smarter than EVERY student that attends UGA. Please let me know if that’s your argument, and I’ll end all conversations with you ASAP.

And to me it doesn’t really matter, I don’t pick and choose my doctors / lawyers / vets / etc based on where they went to school, I pick and choose based off the quality of their work and their reputation. (Again, the emphasis on “…like it matters in the long run…”) That’s my point, and I’m sorry if you’re not smart enough to “get it.” Graduating from a top notch school over a smaller school does maybe one thing, it may get your “foot” in the door a little bit faster. After that, it’s an individual’s responsibility to make things happen. You can scream GO BIG BLUE all you want but if you’re not performing at the correct level or meeting expectations, you’ll be thrown out on your BIG BLUE azz.
You get my point now? I can dumb it down for you further if you need me to, based on your comments above, I just might have to. Please prove me wrong!!!

Shut up Deb. You know NOTHING about me. I actually am in the process of moving back. My life is actually quite good. I have much more than football going on in my life. I've forgotten more than you'll ever know and have more letters after my name than you'ever will. 'Most of the time I'm chuckling as I type this. Even norm said ribbing is good fun. I guess you need to grow some thicker skin.

Since you brought it up, what I "hate" about the south is the bigotry, racism and people still fighting the Civil War for the right to own slaves. Yankee this and Yankee that. Over half the people I ask if they even know where Wisconsin is don't have a clue. I hear this krap dang near every day. Obviously, not everyone here is like that, but there are a helluva lot more down here than up there that are like that. I base it on a lack of education; which is much lower than the region where I come from. You can FACT CHECK this. Next time, engage brain, and facts before fingers/mouth. Funny thing is, is that you have yet to PROVE that I've been wrong about any of the points I've been making. Have a nice day and don't pity me; use your time more constructively.

As I posted before, the country is full of unstable people. With every irrational post about the southeast United States, the guy who calls himself "packerbadger" makes abundantly clear he's one of them. You have to be irrational to hate an entire region of people with such ferocity and to believe (as he insists he does) that intellect is determined by birthplace.

For whatever reason, the man moved to the South and hates it. But he doesn't have the intellectual resources, the educational background, or the courage to move somewhere more preferable to him and make a more desirable life for himself. Instead, he just sits in his misery and spends his days spewing hatred on a football blog to people who've never done him any harm. What a sad waste of life. Yeah, I'm sure someone looking to hire someone who graduated from Harvard or Michigan doesn't have any advantage over someone who graduated from Georgia or Alabama or Mississippi.
Hey Stormin' Norman! Yes, this is a COLLEGE football blog. You do know to have a COLLEGE football team, the athletes must be enrolled in COLLEGE. That means theres an academic part to this; which you guys seem to ignore. Your school doesn't seem to care about the COLLEGE part. I guess if I had to match up Alabama against Wisconsin in academics, I'd only want to focus on the football part as well. Why don't you go to wikipedia and compare Wisconsins academics to Alabama's. If it were to be a football score, Wisconsin would have 117 and Alabama 6. We have a very good football team and an even better COLLEGE!

Second this is a football blog. We don't care about your dislike of 'everythang' southern; we only care about how many points your pathetic badgers score on our southern teams, more specifically SEC teams (3-8-1 record, I see why you’re angry). You rag on our educational statistics for SEC schools, like it really matters in the long run. It doesn't. You hate the south for whatever reason, I can live with that however, if it's so bad you can always move back home. Given you're superior education (sarcasm) I'm sure you can find a job the pays the same, and provides the needs necessary to move out of the wretched south right? If the south was truly as bad as you like to proclaim, you would've moved a while ago. The excuse train starts in 5…4…3

tlmoon2112 says:

Hey Tommy57, I don’t disagree with your premise at all. All I’m saying is that for whatever reason Alabama fans have taken it to the next level with destruction of personal and public property. I don’t see that happening anywhere else in college football.
-------------------------------------------------
Harvey Updyke, a guy who's clearly several bricks shy of a load, destroyed Auburn's trees. Thousands of Alabama fans raised thousands of dollars to try and reimburse Auburn for the loss. You're choosing to focus on the one jackass instead of the thousands of good Alabama fans--either because you've been exposed to other jerks among the Bama faithful or because you're a fan of a Bama rival. But you'd have to be pretty naive to believe this stuff doesn't happen everywhere--and not just in college football.

Central Florida trains triathletes from all over the world and you wouldn't believe the destructiveness of these lunatic cyclists toward automobile drivers. They spit at us, throw things at our cars, illegally ride in packs across the road so drivers can't pass. Scary. We live in a time when a lot of people act without any personal boundaries. And an alarming number of people are mentally unstable, wandering through life just waiting for someone or something to light the fuse. Things that stir deep passions--such as football, politics, religion, or job-related issues--can send unbalanced people over the edge. And none of this is unique to Alabama.

A few years ago, my sister-in-law saw a mob of Tennessee fans trying to turn over the car of an elderly couple after a football game just because the car had Alabama plates and the Vols had just lost to the Tide. She'll never attend another Bama game in Knoxville. Last season, fans of a visiting team were beaten nearly to death in the stadium parking lot at WVU. A Steelers fan was deliberately blinded in a bar in Chicago. A father in Green Bay was arrested for tying up his 7-year-old son when the kid refused to wear a Packers jersey. This stuff goes on all over the country--not just Alabama, Philly, or Oakland.

Hey Tommy57, I don’t disagree with your premise at all. All I’m saying is that for whatever reason Alabama fans have taken it to the next level with destruction of personal and public property. I don’t see that happening anywhere else in college football.
————————————————-
Harvey Updyke, a guy who’s clearly several bricks shy of a load, destroyed Auburn’s trees. Thousands of Alabama fans raised thousands of dollars to try and reimburse Auburn for the loss. You’re choosing to focus on the one jackass instead of the thousands of good Alabama fans–either because you’ve been exposed to other jerks among the Bama faithful or because you’re a fan of a Bama rival. But you’d have to be pretty naive to believe this stuff doesn’t happen everywhere–and not just in college football.
