Inside the Irish: Amir Carlisle suffers broken collarbone

Amir Carlisle AP

There appears to be some unfortunate injury news for Notre Dame. Keith Arnold over at Inside the Irish is reporting that running back Amir Carlisle and defensive end Chase Hounshell have sustained injuries during spring practice.

Arnold reports that Carlisle suffered a broken collarbone and Hounshell has another shoulder injury — perhaps a torn labrum. A collarbone injury would likely keep the USC transfer out of spring practices. Brian Kelly has not met with the media to confirm the reports, though he should do so next week.

Carlisle had been fighting a nagging ankle injury that forced him to miss the 2012 season.

The Trojan curse for transferring bites another ex SC player.

Doesn’t ND have their own thread on this site? What’s the point in giving them their own section if you’re is just going to post that news with the rest of the peons? Put this stuff on the Inside the Irish (sounds like a leprechaun porn flick) section and leave this one for the rest of college football.

I’m guessing manchestermiracle has never heard of cross promoting. And I’m pretty positive Keith Arnold is okay with it.

Blind promotion is more like it. That’s how ND ended up getting waxed by ‘Bama. It was obvious after the fact that they didn’t belong there, but certain people wanted them to be relevant again and reason got trampled on the way to false glory.

It’s actually possible to over-promote to the point of saturation. You guys remind me of the Cowboys of the 80s. Not everybody thought they were America’s Team. Since you paid all that money I can see why you’d stick the Irish everywhere. I just found it so much easier to avoid them before you started “cross promoting.” Is that a religion pun?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Okay. I get it now. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Agree with Manchester. Instead of cross promoting, how about fixing this app so videos show up on your mobile site? Nd is way over hyped.

Manchester, nobody forced you to read the article.
