USC TE out for remainder of spring with fractured chest

Lane Kiffin has been more open about injury news this spring. While we here at CFT consider that a good thing, the news Kiffin shared with media members after Thursday’s practice was not so good.

Per Kiffin, tight end Xavier Grimble has a fractured chest and will be out for the remainder of spring practices.

Ouch.

The injury was previously identified as a broken rib, something Grimble has been dealing with for some time now. His availability for the rest of spring has consequently been in question, but now it’s official.

Grimble was fourth on the team last year in receiving yards and led all tight ends with 316 yards to go along with his five touchdowns.
