USF lineman out for spring with shoulder injury

Willie Taggart AP

It’s that time of the year: injuries coupled with slow news days.

Per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, USF offensive lineman Lawrence Martin will miss the remainder of spring practice because of a shoulder injury.

“Hopefully it doesn’t require surgery, and he can just rehab and get it back together,” new Bulls coach Willie Taggart said of Martin. “He won’t be back the rest of spring.”

Martin could be back once fall camp rolls around, but his place on the depth chart may be altered by then. Though Martin only played a limited role for USF last year, he had been working with the first team O-line this spring.

Martin’s injury is just the latest setback for the Bulls in the trenches, as USF currently has four scholarship linemen hampered by injuries.
