Ex-Sooner WR Kameel Jackson leaves ULM

One of four Oklahoma players suspended for various issues last May by Bob Stoops, Kameel Jackson left the football program after the head coach announced three months later that the wide receiver would not be reinstated.

Jackson transferred a short time later to Louisiana-Monroe, setting the stage for a reunion of sorts as the Warhawks and Sooners will open the upcoming season with a game in Norman. Alas, such a reunion is not in the cards.

A ULM official confirmed to the Daily Oklahoman that Jackson has left the school in order to get his grades up at the JUCO level. Academic issues at OU led to Jackson ‘s suspension and eventual departure.

The receiver plans on returning to ULM in december, the official added.

A four-star member of OU’s 2011 recruiting class, Jackson caught 12 passes for 165 yards as a true freshman. He sat out the 2012 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, but did practice with the Warhawks.
