USC’s depth at tight end takes another hit

USC lost its leading receiving tight end, Xavier Grimble, for the remainder of the spring last month because of a fractured chest. Now, the Trojans have lost another tight end for the spring because of injury.

It was announced Thursday that Randall Telfer had knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus and will miss four to six weeks recovering. USC’s spring game is this weekend and depth figures to be an issue for the entire team as 20 players will be out with injuries.

As a sophomore last season Teifer finished with 100 yards receiving and four touchdowns, compared to his 273 yards and five touchdowns in 2011. With Grimble out, Teifer was looking for more reps this spring and should see the field for USC this fall.
