And this is exactly what coaches everywhere want to avoid during the spring.
Arizona wide receiver Austin Hill sustained what was initially classified as a leg injury earlier this week. Although there was no diagnosis at first, the injury was believed to be serious.
Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the worst-case scenario has come to fruition. It was confirmed today by coach Rich Rodriguez that Hill suffered a torn ACL -- Hill did not participate in UA’s spring game -- and is all but certainly out for the 2013 season.
It’s a huge loss for Arizona, as Hill led all receivers on the team last year with 1,364 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was also added to last year’s Biletnikoff Award list and could easily have been on the list this year.
