Ex-Sooners QB will transfer to Syracuse

Following a recent visit with Syracuse, former Oklahoma quarterback Drew Allen appears he is ready to finish his collegiate career with the Orange.

According to Michael Cohen of The Post-Standard, citing a source within the program, Allen will transfer to Syracuse following his graduation from OU in May. Assuming the report comes to fruition -- Allen confirmed the move to ESPN’s Joe Schad, though Syracuse has not formally commented on it -- Allen will be able to play immediately for his final year of eligibility.

Bruce Feldman of CBSSports reported last month that Syracuse was one of three schools, along with Arkansas State and Maryland, on Allen’s visit list. However, ESPN’s Joe Schad reported later that Maryland was not interested in Allen.

A three-star member of OU’s 2009 recruiting class, Allen was rated by Rivals.comas the No. 15 pro-style quarterback in the country. He attempted just 30 passes during his time in Norman. In late january, Allen was granted a release from his OU scholarship.
