In May of last year, it was announced that Oklahoma center Austin Woods had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The somber news took a turn for the better five months later, however, when Woods said he had undergone his final chemotherapy treatment.
After another five months, Woods delivered even better news (via his Twitter account): he is officially cancer-free.
This time last year I was finding out I had Cancer. Now I’m cancer free! For everyone out there battling… Stay strong! #50BeatCancer

Despite his previous treatments, Woods still participated during Oklahoma’s 2012 season.
Congratulations to Austin. Best of luck moving forward.
