POTUS meets up with star of Nebraska spring game

Red-White Spring Game, 4.6.13 AP

It’s been an incredible month for 7-year-old Nebraska fan Jack Hoffman: the little boy battling pediatric brain cancer who has become an adopted member of the NU family. First, Hoffman got an opportunity to score a touchdown during the Cornhuskers’ spring game — a video from which helped the run become an internet sensation.

Now, and as a result of that video, Hoffman and his family got to meet President Barack Obama on Monday.

“It was just such a great opportunity for us to visit him and raise national awareness for pediatric brain cancer,” Hoffman’s father said. “He talked about his commitment to research and science.”

The Hoffman family was joined by their son’s favorite player, former Huskers running back Rex Burkhead.

It’s been a tough road for Jack Hoffman lately. Surely these past few weeks have been a huge lift for his spirits.

With all that is going on in the world that affects us and with all that the POTUS has to do, this one act shows me that he is “Our President”.

You’re joking, right? Trillions in debt, unemployment (or should I more appropriately point out that it’s really UNDER-employment that’s the problem; former CEO’s working minimum wage jobs now) at a ridiculous level, a health care plan that’s killing small businesses, and meeting a 7-year old shows you that he’s YOUR president? You need a reality check.

    Hey florida727,

The mess our country is in is a joint effort from everyone included. A bad decision to invade Iraq and the expense incurred etc. etc. Obama has been playing defense from the time he has taken office. This country needs help from all quarters.

Still blaming Bush, huh? Good call. I say let’s give Obama eight more years. Maybe by then he can right all the wrongs, right? If you’re that poor a leader that five or six YEARS into your presidency you’re still faulting others for the problems of the country, you’re not very effective. You’ve got the idiots on Capitol Hill on your side and you’re STILL blaming things on Bush? Wow. You really are delusional. Get a clue, man.

    Hey Florida727,

Were you one of those lucky voters that had to stand in line for 7 or 8 hours to vote?

I’ve seen instances that when Obama has conceded to the right, he still gets turned down in terms of passing legislation because you folks can’t get together with each other.
