Kyle Field expansion plans reportedly near final, could seat over 100k

Rumors/reports/speculation of an expansion to Texas A&M’s Kyle Field have been ongoing for some time. As early as tomorrow, they could become a reality.

According to multiple reports from KBTX and TexAgs.com, the A&M System Board of Regents could vote on renovations to the stadium Wednesday. A press conference has tentatively been scheduled for 6:00 p.m. that evening. Billy Liucci of TexAgs.com adds that the project could mean an expansion of at least 102,000 occupants.

Kyle Field currently has a capacity of around 82,500.

Such an expansion would possibly give A&M the largest stadium in the SEC and would make it among the biggest in the country, but there’s also this to consider: Texas’ DKR Memorial Stadium holds just over 100,000 people.

We’re just throwing that out there.
