2015 Tar Heels-Gamecocks game to be played in Charlotte

Gamecocks Tar Heels

Continuing a trend that’s a handful of years in the making, 2015 non-conference opponents will soon announce its game will be played on a neutral field.

According to the Charlotte Observer, the Sept. 5, 2015 North Carolina-South Carolina game will be played at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium, home of the NFL’s Panthers and the ACC championship game.  An official announcement is expected to come Thursday morning.

That game will serve as the season opener for both schools.

The two teams will also open the 2013 season against each other Aug. 29 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.  That game will mark the first time the two neighbors have faced each other in football since the 2007 season, a 21-15 road victory for the Gamecocks.

Should have been a regular game long ago.

Should occur every year. A natural rivalry. Good tune-up game for SC.

Should be played ON CAMPUS every year.

Instead of playing an in-state rival like Wofford or The Citadel, or SC State, the Fighting Gamecocks should play a “big-boy” school every year like UNC, NC State, UVa, Maryland, Ga Tech, etc. That would make price of the tickets worth more. IMO I’d see a game where the outcome is in question than a “cupcake” game.

Well everybody needs a cupcake game to open the season. Sorry u*nc fans if you haven’t figured it out yet but you’re the cupcake.

No matter how much Redbull the a$$hat, I mean Fedora drinks and whatever wacky spread offense he comes up with it will not be enough to match an SEC defense.

This game is nothing but a money grab by u*nc that actually works well for USC. See most redneck kerliner fans near Charlotte can’t find chapel hill on a map and even if they could their 4×4 trucks wouldn’t fit in the parking deck to tailgate at the worst venue in the ACC to tailgate. Plus alums and students do their best to keep kerliner fans from entering the city limits of chapel hill especially those that dip snuff, keep shotguns in their 4×4’s gun racks and wear rebel flag shirts. Things like that tend to offend liberals.

So this game in Charlotte allows the fleecing of the area’s unwashed kerliner base and is a short 90 mile drive from USC.

I’m sure given the scandal that u*nc is still fighting with that they basically gave away the store to USC to make this game happen. No way USC was going to play in chapel hill and get told by those cheaters that they aren’t the REAL CAROLINA, at least not in football anyway.
Expect u*nc press releases to state how awesome this is for recruiting to play in Charlotte.
