Less than a week after he being involved in an automobile accident that left him in “critical but stable condition”, Kentucky safety Ashely Lowery has been released from the hospital.
Family friend and spokesman Doug Stutsman told the Associated Press Friday that Lowery was released from the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga., on Thursday.
Though Lowery was reportedly thrown 100 feet from his car for not wearing his seatbelt in the early morning accident, his injuries were reduced to non-life threatening just a couple of days later. Stustsman told the AP that Lowery had only “bumps and bruises” and the defensive back should return to Lexington this summer.
Simply amazing.
Ashley started eight games in 2012 as a true sophomore, finishing fifth on the team in tackles (43). He is projected to start again for first-year coach Mark Stoops this fall.
