Johnny Manziel shows he can throw accurately… while blindfolded

Johnny Manziel AP

What do coaches always say to quarterbacks? You better be able to make all the throws in your playbook blindfolded?

Johnny Manziel says “challenge accepted.”

Known more for his improv ability, the Heisman Trophy winner showed off his throwing accuracy as well during a “Zorro drill” while training with quarterback guru George Whitfield Jr. Blindfolded, Manziel tossed just two uncatchable balls out of 29 attempts. Not too shabby.

“I have always said he has the best antenna in football,” Whitfield said. “I think he just proved that.”

And if anyone needs anymore proof, here’s a video of one of the passes.

It might not be on the level of a trick shot video, but it’s impressive nevertheless.

Johnny’s having fun and showing off. Nothing is wrong with that, if you have the talent and can prove it, and he has that in spades. Stay healthy, Johnny and do extraordinarily well, along with your team, except when you come to Baton Rouge.

A&M’s schedule is still a joke.

Impressive, but still just an Aggie.

…and JaMarcus Russell once threw a football 70 yards while on his knees but QBs rarely play from their knees…or blindfolded.

Johnny Manziel is the next Tim Tebow: immensely talented, very popular…and being driven right into the ground by a media that can’t get enough of him and thinks the public at large is the same way. If someone comes up with a story about him performing circumcisions in the Philippines….

My daughter goes to Penn State. She’s not an athlete or a scholar; therefore, she’s not on a scholarship and finds a job during the summer months to save money.

If they choose not to attend summer classes, it’s good that the scholarship athletes can use the summer months to work on their technical proficiency, so long as they can afrord it and none of the showboating violates NCAA rules.

Sadly, my daughter can’t do anything in her courses blindfolded.

Johnny Football + Blindfold > Timmy Tebow + Jeebus

#bertenheim, thanks for your ignorant post. I’m a Florida fan, but even I respect their schedule, their tradition, and their performance on the field. If you think playing Alabama (Sept. 14), Arkansas (Sept. 28), Ole Miss (Oct. 12), MS State (Nov. 9), LSU (Nov. 23), and Mizzou (Nov. 30)… and possibly the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 7… is a soft schedule, you’re delusional.

Got to love their AD’s scheduling capabilities though. Only 4 road games, but all 4 are SEC games (Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU and Mizzou). They start with 4 home games, followed by 2 road games, 4 more home games, then the last 2 on the road.

No FLA, no UGA, no S.Car.
Three non-AQs and an FCS, all at home.
Compare with LSU in the same division (FLA, UGA, TCU).

    @ Bertenheim

No doubt that LSU’s schedule is tough, and if they can make it through with even 11 wins, they deserve the title.

But that easy schedule may give the Aggies an inside shot at the SEC title. Plus the Aggies have no control over their SEC East opponents, thats a rotation.

LSU has a permanent cross-over with FLA.
    A&M has a permanent cross-over with MO.
    Real fair.

We’d rather have a permanent game with Texas….

  15. mizzouman86 says: May 23, 2013 8:28 PM

And we’d rather have a permanent game with Kansas. Even if it had to be in the SEC, it ought to be with Arkansas, not A&M. Slive and his schedulers are nut jobs as far as I’m concerned.
