Georgia loses a TE to transfer

Ty Flournoy-Smith, Ken Malcome, Alexander Ogletree AP

Though Aaron Murray will be looking to the likes of Arthur Lynch and Jay Rome to make plays at the tight end position, Georgia’s depth at that spot has taken a bit of a hit.

The school confirmed Wednesday that sophomore  Ty Flournoy-Smith was transferring from the program. It’s not exactly certain where he’ll go, but it appears the JUCO route is the early favorite. Bulldogs coach Mark Richt even said there’s a possibility Smith could return to the team at a later point.

Smith had some off-the-field trouble this past February when he was arrested for falsely reporting a crime. Smith claimed his textbooks were stolen, whereas police found out he tried to sell them back to the bookstore.

Smith played in eight games last season, but did not record a reception.

I think the young man saw the writing on the wall at not only the position he plays at, but also given, he had a small legal misstep as well, he might not see too much time on the field.
Good luck to the young man in the future wherever he ends up.

I’m tired of hearing the phrase “JUCO route”. Spice is up a bit. “He is JUCOing out”, for example.

Now if we could just lose our head coach to JUCO.

What would you do to the scum who beheaded the British Soldier in London yesterday? Why didn’t the Brits just shoot them dead in their tracks? As for this young man who sold his text books back to the bookstore then said they were stolen……..with every-thing else going on in the world, I have no time for “STUPID”. How about the 4 “AMERICANS” killed by the drones…..the media implies we should not kill “our own citizens”…..but unless you read the article, you would not know WHO THEY WERE:
anwar al-awlaki – the radical “AMERICAN” iman
his 16-year old son – he was in Yemen for INTERNATIONAL STUDIES ABROAD PROGRAM… NOTTTT!!
    some guy name SAMIE KHAN…..
Jude Kennan MOHAMMAD….a Florida native indicted in North Carolina who was “DRONED” IN PAKISTAN….I WONDER WHAT HE WAS DOING THERE????
One last comment….I wonder if the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA STILL REQUIRES THEIR UNDERGRADS TO READ THE koran? What a crazy, upside down world we live in…..

funny how this is the response from GA fans when its their players leaving, but if it was a BAMA transfer every Dawg online would be screaming that Saban viciously kicked him out to make room for the next recruiting class and the AJC would spin it into 3 negative stories about us…lol… hope this kid can get his head on straight before its too late…

I doubt you know enough about personally to make a blanket statement and lump me in with your perceived perception and your superior knowledge you think you possess about all fans of a particular school.

It is indeed a mixed up world we live in and our country is getting worse. The criminal has more rights than the victim, I.E. the Army Major that shot all those folks in Ft. Hood. I have a little bit different perception of how to handled terrorist after 21 years of the military than some I suppose. I would tend to shoot them and Let God sort them out. I would be more than happy to help them go to their 52 virgin reward.
