Saban’s charity auction to include tickets, sideline passes, office tour

With so much attention focused on Nick Saban‘s, er, “devilish” side, perhaps some attention to his more charitable side is in order.

As part of a charity auction linked to the sale of his $11 million Georgia home, Saban is offering a package of Crimson Tide football tickets, sideline passes and an office tour that will be up for grabs to the highest bidder (who hopefully won’t flush the items down the toilet).

The real story is where the money from the auction is going: Saban’s charity, Nick’s Kids, which has already donated more than $1 million to relief efforts for the tornado that blew through Tuscaloosa two years ago.

“It seems, other than creating some buzz for people looking at his property for sale, the benefits of all of this goes to Nick’s Kids,” sai, Jim Sumner, director of the Alabama Ethics Commission.

Some say Saban’s heart grew three sizes today.
