Bump in pay coming for most of Gundy’s staff at Oklahoma State

Mike Gundy AP

Oklahoma State co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Glenn Spencer was assigned full responsibility of the Cowboys’ defense this offseason following the departure of Bill Young. As one would expect, Spencer will be compensated accordingly.

The Tulsa World published the salaries for Mike Gundy and his coaching staff for the 2013 season on Thursday. Spencer will receive a raise of $102,000 (from $360,000 to $462,000) as he takes over the defensive coordinator job. New offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich will receive $400,000 in 2013, $200,000 less than what former OC Todd Monken made.

Gundy’s bump in pay is nearly $200,000 ($3.275 million to $3.45 million). Receivers coach Kasey Dunn and running backs coach Jemal Singleton each received a raise from $210,000 to $280,000. New defensive line coach Joe Bob Clements is the highest paid new coach, who also happens to have the coolest name, at $315,000.

Really??? Really???? Columbia, MO is a dump? A degree from U. of Missouri is something very special. Academically it is a solid school with perhaps the finest School of Journalism in the country. Don’t rag on Mizzou because this school and that town is OUTSTANDING! They made the correct move going to the SEC from the “U. of Texas Conference” called the BIG 12. Gundy is a fine coach and is paid handsomely by OK State / T. Boone Pickens. If not for Mr. Pickens, many of your facilities would not be as attractive as they are. He is a fine man.
