One person believed to be connected to the burglary of the home of Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops was arrested early Saturday morning. At the time, police were still on the lookout for a second suspect.

Per multiple outlets, a second arrest has been made in the case. Police have declined to give the second suspect’s name because that person is a juvenile. The first person arrested in connection to the burglary, 21-year-old Corey McCarty, waived his Miranda rights and confessed robbing Stoops’ home, according to the probable cause affidavit. McCarty was arrested for first-degree burglary. He also faces complaints of possession of stolen property, larceny of a motor vehicle and use of a credit card.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Newell said that there may be others connected to the robbery as well.

The Norman Police Department previously released surveillance images of two men who allegedly attempted to use a credit card stolen from the house. Other items said to be taken included cash and a vehicle.

Stoops was not home at the time of the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and Stoops’ family did not realize the burglary occurred until later that morning.

As I posted in my first post, the Norman Police will catch those who perpetrated this crime and will bring them to justice quickly. I know so many people in that area and their dedication to the Sooners that I can state no matter how many are involved they will get them.

On a related topic….with crime being what it is nowadays, I am a little surprised that Coach Stoops does not live a gated community or at least have a sophisticated alarm system on his home and property. We live in a more remote area and we have a good alarm system, not to mention the many neighbors who carry. I wish Coach well and hope he will protect his home maybe a little better in the future. This may be a warning to all of us to check our security levels.

Stoops should drop the charges and let them join the team, they would fit right in!!!

Anything to take the headlines away from Johnny Football. This website acts like he killed a guy.
When in fact, he only whipped OU by 4 whole TD’s.

I’m glad Medium Game Bob got his stuff back. Maybe next time he should actually USE his security system.

Absolute amateurs – absolutely! Hear they got because they started bragging about it.
Agree with the use the security system. Security systems for us regular folk can be quite sofistitcated at a reasonable price today. Cell phone / GSM back-up in the event the phone lines are cut, they can call your smart phone with video to show the perps in your house. But no matter how complex your security system is – if you don’t turn in on????
