UCLA WR to reportedly miss the season after back surgery

Bad news could be coming in pairs for UCLA.

On the same day the Los Angeles Times reported Pitt running back Rushel Shell would not be transferring to the Bruins after all, the paper also reported UCLA would be without a wide receiver as well. Per the Times, Kenneth Walker will miss the 2013 season after undergoing back surgery earlier this month. Walker has been bothered by the injury since spring practice.

Walker will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2014. He had 11 receptions for 87 yards last season as a freshman.

Depth at receiver shouldn’t be an issue with includin senior Shaquelle Evans and sophomores Jordan Payton and Devin Lucien.
