Jeremy Gainer moves on from Michigan State to Chips

A little over two months after transferring from Michigan State, Jeremy Gainer has decided to finish out his collegiate playing career in the state in which it started.

A Central Michigan spokesperson confirmed to mlive.com that the defensive lineman has indeed transferred into the football program. As Gainer graduated from MSU, he will be eligible to play for the Chips immediately in 2013.

Gainer did not participate in spring practice for the Spartans, and his decision to transfer was reported a couple of weeks after the end of those sessions.

Gainer was a four-star member of the Spartans’ 2009 recruiting class, rated as the No. 15 outside linebacker in the country in that class. He had played mainly on special teams while appearing in 27 games the past two years, after which he was an Academic All-Big Ten selection each of those seasons.
