Minnesota will be without one of its linebackers this fall as Lamonte Edwards has been kicked off the team, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Officially, Edwards has been given the boot for violating team rules, but the Tribune writes that “Edwards was arrested after an iPhone was stolen from a weight room in a Gophers athletics building on June 18. Tracking software led police to Edwards, who first said the phone belonged to his cousin. When questioned later by U of M Police, he admitted he stole the phone from the weight room, according to the warrant.”

In 11 games as a sophomore in 2012, and in one start, Edwards recorded eight tackles.

When will todays youth learn that you don’t take what is not yours? Right from wrong, I guess parents don’t teach that anymore and the government sure as hell doesn’t care about what”s right so they maintain the status quo.
