Buckeyes reportedly no longer an option for Rushel Shell

While we still don’t know where it is Rushel Shell will continue his playing career, we do know (reportedly) where it won’t be.

According to Brett McMurphy of, the former Pittsburgh running back will choose between Kentucky and West Virginia as his next transfer destination.  Shell will decide after making visits to both schools.

It had previously been reported that Shell was considering Ohio State along with those two schools, and would make a decision after visiting all three.  Why the Buckeyes are no longer an option is unclear.

Shell left the Panthers earlier this year and was headed for UCLA before deciding he wanted to stay closer to his twin daughters.  While Shell wanted to return to Pitt, that school never seriously considered allowing the prodigal back to come back to his football home.

Regardless of where Shell ultimately land, he’ll be forced to sit out the 2013 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules.

This guy would only be needed to help carry the RBs pads and handing them water after they are done tearing up college football this year cuz The Ohio State University is stacked and ready to hoist the rose bowl trophy(also BCS title game). Get ready for the buckeye dynasty

According to what I have read, Mr. Shell does not have a solid work ethic at all and is a problem in the locker room. That is why there is little interest in pursuing him.

His attitude would have been a great fit at an Ohio state university.

Instead of playing football, maybe he should consider getting a job to support his two children while going to school at night. He’s responsible for bringing two children into this world, he should be accountable to them and himself. Focus on your Family and obtaining an education. You have no time for extra curricular activities. It seems to me you used them up…….and your attitude stinks! You want to be close to your daughters, start at junior college at night and get a job during the day.
