Starting Sooner DL arrested on drunk-driving complaint

Everett Golson, Chuka Ndulue AP

And now we present Exhibit No. 1,827 as to why the nerves of coaches all across the country are frayed at this time of the year.

The latest FBS program to run into an offseason off-field issue is Oklahoma, with defensive tackle Chuka Ndulue facing a drunk-driving complaint following an early-morning run-in with campus police.

According to the Daily Oklahoman, Ndulue was arrested shortly after four a.m. local time this morning on a complaint of driving under the influence.  No details of what led to the initial traffic stop have been released.

There has been no comment from the school on what if any punitive measures the lineman may be facing, although the paper notes that head coach Bob Stoops normally hands out a one-game suspension for incidents such as this.

Last season, Ndulue played in all 13 games and led the Sooners with five sacks.  He was moved from end to tackle this spring.

“Complaint” of DUI suggests that he was not pulled over, but rather taken into custody after the fact. Explain, please.

Maybe Stoopsie can get this guy a medical redshirt year like Dvoracek

He get a slap on the hand-at worst. Stoops and all coaches should follow Bo Pellini’s “no tolerance-one and done” policy if we want to clean up college football.
