Three bowl games in Orlando? ‘It’s a possibility’

Creating more bowl games to accommodate schools from the fiver lower-tier conferences in major college football could be in the offing in the near future. While nothing’s set in stone yet, the city of Orlando could wind up hosting three bowls as a result.

Or, at least that’s what Alan Gooch, executive director of the Orlando Sports Foundation and former UCF coach, would like to see considered.

“We have spoken to quite a few conferences and there are conferences that are interested, but we are just continuing to go through that process,” Gooch said via the Orlando Sentinel.

The Citrus Bowl already hosts the Russell Athletic Bowl and the Capital One Bowl. The American Athletic Conference has looked into creating its own bowl, but Miami has reportedly been the destination of choice.
