Kentucky dismisses Thomas brothers

Khalid Thomas joined his brother Pancho Thomas (pictured, somewhat) earlier this year as a member of the Kentucky football program.

Five months later, the brothers will involuntarily exit the program together as well.

A UK spokesperson confirmed to the Louisville Courier-Journal Thursday that the two players have been dismissed from the football program.  Other than unspecified violations of team rules, no reasons were given for the twin dismissals.

The Courier-Journal subsequently reported that both players had been cited for possession of a controlled substance July 6.

Pancho Thomas was a backup linebacker as a freshman this past season, playing in 10 games.  Khalid Thomas, who was going to be utilized as a running back this season, was a three-star member of the Wildcats’ 2013 recruiting class.

There is no “Lexington Courier-Journal.” There is the “Courier-Journal” in Louisville, and the “Herald-Leader” in Lexington.

This just in: The Ole Ball Sack was pleased to announce the recruitment of Kalid and Pancho Thomas. While on his weekly visit to The Richland County Detention Center to visit half the Jailcock team, SS met the Thomas brothers. Not realizing they are/were free agents, Sack offered them new cars, jobs for relatives, the promise of student doubles to take classes for them, recreational drugs and alcohol (the same way he induced Garcia and Clowney) to transfer. The brothers also wanted cash and Sack paid them out his booster slush fund. So the Univ of South Crapolina Shamecocks are pleased to announce their newest recruits.

What a waste of talent all for drugs. This is just so sad what these kids are doing to themselves.
