Notre Dame transfer Justin Ferguson lands at WMU

Approaching four months since confirming his intent to transfer, former Notre Dame wide receiver Justin Ferguson has officially found his new home.

Via David Drew of Mlive.com, Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck has announced that Ferguson is on campus and on the Broncos’ roster. The Kalmazoo Gazette first reported that Ferguson had joined the Broncos. Unless he receives a special waiver from the NCAA, he will have to sit out the 2013 season to satisfy transfer rules. He’ll have three years of eligibility remaining in 2014.

Ferguson played in 11 games last season as a true freshman, catching one pass for nine yards. He was a three-star member of the Irish’s 2012 class, rated as the No. 58 receiver in the country.
