Manziel one of 34 QBs on this year’s O’Brien watch list

Stuffed in the middle of the frenzy of SEC Media Days is the release of the Davey O’Brien Award, given annually to college football’s best quarterback.

As it so happens, the player answering a slew of questions right now, Johnny Manziel, is on this year’s preseason watch list. He’s also the reigning winner of the trophy.

Some notable signal callers on this year’s O’Brien watch list include Tajh Boyd (Clemson), Marcus Mariota (Oregon) and A.J. McCarron (Alabama). The SEC leads all conferences with seven players on the list, followed by the Pac-12 with five and the ACC with four.

As always, you can view the entire list of preseason candidates below. You can now also check out our preseason watch lists repository HERE.
