Report: USF DB will miss season with torn Achilles tendon

USF is getting some bad news on the injury front -- reportedly.

Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports that Bulls defensive back Josh Brown has torn his right Achilles tendon and will miss the 2013 season as he recovers from surgery. More specifically, the senior will need six to eight months to recover and should be good to go by next spring.

However, by the same fact that Brown is a senior, he will have to pursue an additional year of eligibility. Brown already used a redshirt while recovering from a shoulder injury at Arizona Western College in 2010.

Brown, who had 11 tackles last year with USF, was expected to contribute as the team’s starting nickel defensive back in 2013.
