Gators suspend Morrison for at least two games

Following up on the post right below this one, Florida head coach Will Muschamp has acted swiftly following yet another incident involving presumptive starting linebacker Antonio Morrison.

In a statement, Muschamp announced that Morrison has been suspended indefinitely from the football program and will miss at least the first two games of the 2013 season. Morrison was arrested very early Sunday morning following a run-in with a police dog, which came a little over one month after he was arrested on an assault charge.

“I’m extremely disappointed in Antonio Morrison’s decision making,” Muschamp said in the statement.

The Gators open the upcoming season at home against Toledo Aug. 31, then travel to Miami to face the Hurricanes the following weekend. Following a bye week, UF will open SEC play against Tennessee in The Swamp.
