Four-star signee has left Oklahoma State

Mike Gundy AP

The highest-rated defensive member of Oklahoma State’s 2013 class is no longer a Cowboy, OSU’s head coach has acknowledged.

Mike Gundy confirmed at the Big 12 media days Monday that Naim Mustafaa left the team at some point over the summer, and there doesn’t appear to be a return in the offing at any point in the near future.  As expected, Gundy declined to give a reason for the abrupt departure.

After enrolling early, Mustafaa participated in spring practice.  Exiting spring, he was listed No. 3 on the depth chart.

Mustafaa was a four-star member of OSU’s most recent class, rated as the No. 18 strongside defensive end by 247Sports.com and the No. 23 player in the state of Georgia.

according to local radio, he left because he was home sick.

If true, it sucks to lose a top recruit, but how good could he have been if he is that big of a baby?

These days, homesick means his girlfriend is knocked up.

When you’re a 4-star, with a D-I build as Naim has, and a knack for coming off of the edge…yet you can’t beat out some much lower profile redshirt freshmen for ST playing time? “Homesickness” is probably a good go-to for a reason why, true or not.

Sounds like a young man who had his ego bruised – not the first time, not going to be the last.

Maybe he would rather be a suicide bomber. Hopefully the gov’t is watching his every movement.
