Report: teammates videotaped MTSU player choking female victim

J.D. Jones

Over the weekend, it was reported that three Middle Tennessee State football players had been arrested and charged in connection to an alleged assault.

Today, details have emerged and, quite frankly, they are disturbing.

The Murfreesboro Daily News Journal has obtained a copy of the campus police report, which alleges that two Blue Raider players – cornerback Rodney O’Neal and defensive tackle Marcus Robinson — videotaped teammate J.D. Jones allegedly choking a female victim.  The choking, the report states, was an attempt by the defensive tackle to get the female to cough up money that would be used to buy marijuana.

That incident wasn’t the only one allegedly involving Jones and the female victim: From the paper:

The victim accused Jones of numerous assaults from October 2012 to May 2013. She recalled details of three specific incidents, according to the police report. In the third incident, the victim said Jones hit her with a pink baseball-type bat.

Jones was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, while O’Neal and Robinson were charged with two counts each of aiding and abetting.  All three were subsequently suspended indefinitely by the football program.

Jones was likely the only of the three players in line for significant playing time in 2013.

Umm… I note the comments aren’t as plentiful on here? Sort of wierd that more people aren’t harping about the coach of Middle Tennessee State.

Probably because the coach of Middle Tennessee State doesn’t have a history of multiple arrests occurring at more than one school.

This would be considered a normal day for Urban Meyer.

I’m trying to figure out why this woman hung out with this thug after he hit her with a bat and had other incidents against her all the back to 2012.

How about when a guy hits you with a bat…you call the police?

…maybe she was waiting on two more assholes to come along and tape it…

Sarcasm first- if it didn’t happen in the SEC, USC, or OSU, it isn’t a crime.

Now for the serious part. I don’t know when I became that old man, but what is going on in the world now days? If my son stood by and recorded a woman being choked, he would not want to see me. It seems a man isn’t what a man used to be.

Awesome friends. They videotape your crime for the prosecution to use.

Oh and it’s not always about you and your buckeyes. It rarely is actually. Everyone just likes ripping on all your fans and your dirty coach.
